Bronx High School of Science Mural
This Venetian glass mosaic mural in the lobby of The Bronx High School of Science, created by Frank J. Reilly, entitled Humanities Protecting Biology, Physics, Chemistry, depicts major figures from the history of science such as Marie Curie and Charles Darwin under the protective hands of a God-like figure representing knowledge, with the following quote from John Dewey. "Every great advance in science has issued from a new audacity of imagination". Picture by Alexander Thorpe.

First Astrophotos
This is my first foray into the world of blogging. I wanted a place to publish my astrophotos so I decided to call this blog F Man's Astro Blog. F Man because that is my nickname at work as a teacher of astronomy, and physics. Astro because it will revolve around my interest in astronomy, astrophysics and astrophotography. This is definitely a work in progress since I have never blogged before. Not sure what I'm doing but here goes nothing.
Last night I took my first astrophotos. I guess this makes me an astrophotographer. Sound pretty cool. My first pictures are pretty humble. I took them from my front yard in Ridgewood, NJ using my daughter's iPhone. The list of equipment I used included the following:
My First Astrophoto |
- Celestron C-8 OTA
- Celestron 32mm Plossl
- Celestron Moon Filter
- iOptron MiniTower GOTO AltAz Mount
- iPhone 5
- Orion SteadyPix Universal Telescope Photo Adapter for Smartphones
Here are the other photos I took during this session.
